In this course you will discover the fascinating and multi-coloured world of opals: precious opals, common opals … How opal is formed, where it is found, will be explained. Opal treatments, synthetic materials and imitations will be defined.

- The scientific credibility and renown of the Laboratoire Français de Gemmologie, LFG (French Gemmological Laboratory) within the gem and jewellery trade
- Education keeping up with the latest industry news
- Training provided by an expert
- Lab classes in small groups (10 people maximum per group)
TEACHING METHODS AND RESOURCES
- Theoretical and practical tuition: use of the loupe and the binocular microscope, observation of different samples (including the opal reference set from the LFG collection)
