Bringing gems to the LFG office
Gems may be entrusted to our laboratory, directly at the counter or by post. You can also call upon a private carrier.
At our counter, from Mondays to Thursdays, from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Friday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, uninterrupted.
Collection is available on the same days and hours.

OBJECTS SENT TO THE LABORATORY
Objects to be analysed may be sent by French Post, in declared value, to the laboratory:
Laboratoire Français de Gemmologie 30, rue de la Victoire – 75009 Paris
The declared value may not exceed 5,000 euros and is deemed to be real in relation to the deposit and insurance and/or custody by the laboratory for the period during which the object is found on our premises.
For the deposit, the assignment form must be duly completed by the depositor (click here to download the document).
For the return, the return form must be duly completed by the depositor (click here to download the document), in accordance with La Poste’s regulations.
The cost of conveying parcels by private transport is to be borne entirely by the depositor.
COLLECTION TERMS
The laboratory knows only the depositor, to whom it provides a deposit slip. This document must be shown at the time of object collection. The depositor may provide the name of a third party for collection, at the time of deposit. A power of attorney to collect deposited objects may be issued to a third party by the depositor, who will inform the laboratory (please inquire).
In all cases, the collecting party must show a valid identity document. The objects are returned against payment of analysis and custody fees.
