OBJECTIVES
To learn how to identify gemstones, to understand diamonds, from their formation through to their use in jewellery and to discover the fundamentals of gemmology
TEACHING METHODS AND RESOURCES
- Training provided by a professional gemmologist
- Use of gemmological equipment: loupe, binocular microscope, UV light, polariscope
- Observation of natural diamonds and of diamond simulants
LEARNING ASSESSMENT METHOD
- Knowledge assessment
- Certificate issued at the end of training
